We will resume regular U.S. support hours on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. EU and APAC Support will remain open during this time. The Centrally Managed Laboratory Animal Facilities (CMLAF) provides programs, facilities, personnel and equipment for housing animals and maintains support space and services for the use of Purdue University faculty using animal models. The animal husbandry program includes the provision of proper housing, sanitation, and nourishment for animals. Each CMLAF facility is staffed with a trained staff that is overseen by a Facility Supervisor who reports to the Animal Husbandry and Facility Operations Manager. The centrally managed laboratory animal facilities operate under the specifications of the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the Animal Welfare Act and are fully accredited by the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). Direct costs for animal care are charged back to investigators on a monthly cycle, with per diem rates based on cost accounting principles and studies.
